Accommodations

There are many types of accommodations available for international students in Singapore. Here is a breakdown of typical accommodation costs for one individual international student studying in Singapore:

Visa & Immigration

All international travellers require a valid visa or pass to enter Singapore. Learners are recommended to check the Immigration & Checkpoints Authority (ICA’s) website for the list of countries that require a visa to enter Singapore.

Generally, most short-term visitors can enter and stay in Singapore for a maximum of 4 weeks under the Short-Term Visit Pass, which is an electronic visit pass issued at the point of entry to visitors who are eligible for short-term stay within Singapore.

In order to stay in Singapore long-term, there are many types of passes/visas that allow foreign nationals to stay in Singapore without applying for residency, and here are a few examples:

  • Student’s Pass
  • Work Pass
  • Dependent Pass
  • Long-Term Visit Pass

Local Transportation

Singapore is very easily and conveniently connected through our public transport systems, which are very efficient all year round. Our transport system is one of the best in the world. If you travel by public transport frequently, you may consider looking at the monthly concession rates offered by transitlink.

 

Regardless, make sure to get yourself an Ez-link card for your transportation needs around this little red dot! You can purchase an Ez-link card from any convenience store or MRT station.
