Looking to apply for a Student's Pass in Singapore?
If you are a foreign student, you need to be holding a valid pass to pursue full-time studies at a Private Education Institution (PEI) in Singapore registered under the Committee for Private Education (CPE).
Eligibility for Student's Pass
Fortunately, inlingua School of Languages is an EduTrust-certified PEI with over 50 years of experience in quality language training. Foreign students who meet the following criteria are eligible to apply for Student’s Pass under our full-time Intensive English courses and full-time Intensive Chinese courses. To apply for a Student’s Pass with us, you need to:
- Study a full-time language course (full-time English course / full-time Chinese course) with us
- Study for at least 5 weeks (up to 24 weeks)
- Not be holding any other valid pass to stay in Singapore
- Provide us with the required documents for Student’s Pass application
After going through our course acceptance process, our staff will assist you in applying for the Student’s Pass under the Immigration Checkpoints Authority’s (ICA) system, make an appointment for the collection of your Student’s Pass at ICA and accompany you through the entire process.
However, you won’t require a Student’s Pass if you already hold a valid:
- Dependant’s Pass
- Long-Term Visit Pass
- Immigration Exemption Order
- Short-Term Visit Pass (depending on the duration of study)
Required documents
Here are the required documents for the Student’s Pass application:
- eForm 16 and eForm V36
- Birth Certificate (original + notarised in English)*
- Highest educational certificate, e.g. high school, or university (original + notarised in English)*
- Detailed transcript and results from the highest educational certificate (original + notarised in English)*
- Passport details page, with passport valid for at least 6 months
- Coloured passport-sized photograph of the front of the applicant’s face, with white background. The photo should ideally be 400 x 514 pixels in size, in jpg format and less than 60KB.
*Please make sure that the English translation of all documents are notarised by a legal notary service.

Please do take note that we require at least 4-6 weeks of processing time for Student Pass applications made through us, and we would strongly suggest planning your schedule ahead of time. While inlingua warmly welcomes students of all nationalities to study with us, the outcome of the Student’s Pass application is subject to ICA’s approval.
